Default Broken hub help please !

Today I got into a little bit of mud and had to use 4wd. I put the truck in 4lo and when I started to move I heard a bit of a grinding noise coming from front drivers side wheel then a loud bang ad then more grinding and no 4wd. Now this is my own fault as I've been hearing a little noise comming from that wheel for about a week or so. I know I need to replace the hub and should have sooner but is there anything else I should replace while I'm at it? Thanks for any help guys!

What are you calling a hub? "Hub" as in hub that pressed into the wheel bearings dont normally break apart, the bearing become loose and the tire flops around but they stay in place because the axle holds them in. Did you snap an axle perhaps?

I think it's the hub actuators is what they are called. It's the gear down by the wheel that is held out by vacuum in 2wd and engages in 4wd. I'm not right up to spec with the names of the parts down there sorry

Pretty sure I did yes. 4wd would not engage at all just grinding

Ya iwe! Haha that's it. Isn't their a solionoid or something too that could cause it to have a weak vacuum? I'm not sure

Check the solenoid, vacuum lines, the IWE, and you probably damaged the stub end of the shaft.

If I damaged the shaft do I have to replace the whole cv shaft?

Yes. It would be a bastard to rebuild in place.
