So the cable in the cab of my truck broke and there isn't an easy access to the broken end of the cable inside of the cab.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to open the hood from the outside of the truck with some basic tools? so i don't have to start damaging or ripping things apart.

i have a 2008 Crew cab f-150 4x4 any help or advise would be appreciated!

 

Through the grill right above your emblem. Gonna have to use a long screwdriver or pigtail type tool to manipulate the latch. Just look for where the cable comes into the latch.

yeah i played around with it a little yesterday, but i was a little short on time.
ill have to go back at it with some better tools today, at least now i know it can be done.
