Default Brake rotor choice

Hello my truck is 2006 FX4 5.4 Liter. After a high quote form the dealer for brake job which entails replacing rotors due to warpage and nothing left to cut on them I decided with a help from a friend to undertake this myself. I want to use the motorcraft rotors. On the motorcraft parts site it gives you 3 options for base payload package rotor. 1 OE design 2 Base playload package retail 3 Base payload package.I see the price difference with OE design being the cheapest and retail little cheaper then 3rd option. What seperates the three is most likely the quality. Im just looking for input for which I should use.I know theres is very knowledgeable people on this forum and any advice would much be appreciated. Thank You

Use Brake Motive on EBay. I payed $225 or 250. All 4 vented and cross drilled rotors and all pads. I've had them for 2 years and 25,000 miles. Better than stock and no brake dust at all

I'd upgrade to EBC dimpled slotted rotors

Centric rotors and Wagner thermoQuiet pads. Dont forget to bleed the brak lines.

My personal favorite is Raybestos professional grade. OE-quality, even better in most cases.

Your best bet is OEM but they are not cheap. I have had OK results with stuff from advanced auto parts though. Keep in mind that you will also be replacing the front hubs (front rotor/hub assembly) as well, so you will need a very large socket, I don't recall the size off hand. Also, you will need to replace the locking pin parts too. The torque specs are very high on the front rotor/hub assembly, something like 200 ft-lbs.

Why replace the hub assembly? When I have done my 2005 4x4 I only replaced rotors and pads with EBC products and I had no need for anything but wrenches large enough to remove the caliper from the steering knuckle.

With my truck (non 4x4) the front hubs are built into the rotors so you don't have a choice unless you did a conversion to two piece. It sounds like the 4x4s keep the hubs and rotors separated. You can ignore my post

The Raybestos rotors are by far the best I've had on my truck. The OEM rotors sucked, peeled like an onion.
