I have about 12 thousand miles on my truck. and I have had it only since the beginning of December. I have taken 4 vacations this summer with the truck. that accounts for around 1600 miles on it.

I have had a few issues with the truck nothing major
I had the driver's side rear window come off track because they missed a screw at the factory, the blender motor door motor went bad. I now get a vibrating when I hit about 60 but from what I am reading it could be the factory tries. I have already had it in for two oil changes I took it in the first of march for an oil change, tire rotation and check over. and the second was in June and was just an oil change.
It will be going back to the dealer the end of next month for the 14 thousand mile maintenance package. The will inspect the breaks then (or are suppose to) unless I get signs that they need to be replaced before hand.

As for the ceramic pads being a bit expensive. They are cheep, I can not put a price on my family or other people's live.

I use Akebono brakes on my 05 and they are great. Almost 0 dust and quiet as can be. In fact I use these on both my car and my truck. Also they aren't too expensive I think I paid like 60 bucks for the ones on my truck

I have a little over 32K on my oem brakes about half, I go up and over a pretty good mtn everyday but I drop it into 2nd and let the trans work for me,My last 3 trucks were dodge and I was lucky to get 12k out of any brakes I put on them and usually had to replace the rotors almost every time I replace the pads another reason I ran from dodge

Stock pads suck! I am sick to death of cleaning my wheels once or twice a week. I have had issues with my front rotors since for the past 2000 miles (started at 11K). Ford said the rotors were defective and they would replace with the same rotors and the same stock pads.

I said, "Nope, sorry. I will void my brake warranty, if there is much of one, and replace ALL the rotors with better ones and ceramic pads".

I still am waiting on a few more parts before I make the switch as I plan to replace a few other things while I have the wheels off and the front suspension easily accessible. Looks like it will be this weekend! All parts have finally arrived!

not sure the curb weight of my grand prix is that low. by the same token the brake pads and rotors are proportionally smaller than my truck. just did a little internet search grand prix 3369 LBS and truck 5210 lbs.

I just put on a set of pads from car quest. They are the premium semi metallic ones in a blue box for about $60. They are way better than the stock ones. Stops much better now. Had about 32k on the stocks ones and they made all kinds of noise. The car questones seem to leave less dust also.

Regardless of curb weight, i would guarantee after 100k miles you should replace the pads on any automobile, a crack in the pad can spell disaster, lock up the tire faster than you can blink, that would be fun doing 75mph on the freeway. If you want to take that risk or let your daughter, feel free
