ABS light on
I posted on here three years ago. I have a 99 F-150 rear wheel drive. The sensors can wear out which is what happened to mine. They are a Hall sensor held in place on the rear end by one small bolt. Just taking out the sensor and cleaning it is no fix, its shot and you have to replace it. As I also said check all brake fluid levels and your light bulbs. If the fluid is low or a bulb is out the ABS/Brake light will come on and stay on. I took the ASE course for brakes and ABS, you really want to replace a $15 sensor before you start tearing apart your rotors, hubs, and brakes. Ford wants $110 just to look at a sensor light on. With a new $12 sensor from Napa and literally five minutes under my rear differential I solved the problem. One bit of caution. Make sure you clean the area around the sensor BEFORE you yank it out, the clearence from the head of those sensors to the ring is close. I'm sorry I don't know about an 04 or 4X4 trucks. I do believe there are sensors and rings on the front on those years. My 99 is not a true four wheel ABS system. Thank God. A new ABS unit starts at about $2000 and they go up from there. The worst thing people do is when they try and flush a brake system they push the old dirty fluid into the ABS module and ruin it. Another way to nail down your particular problem is to invest in a OBD II code reader. I got one for $40 bucks. Plug it into the port under your steering wheel and if your lucky the PCM will tell you in code where the problem is. Good luck Steve

Thanks, i'll have to see if I have a PVC or heater fuse. One of my lights went out when I replaced the rear speed sensor. They don't last long with stock gears and a lift kit. I still have a passenger front code and the ABS light won't go out. I bought a scanner on Amazon. The company said it doesn't qualify for warranty when I contacted them to check if my truck was on the list of trucks it can read brake codes. Basically your truck has to have 4 wheel ABS for it to read it.

I found out what was lighting up my brank light fluid was ok then when i was driving i notice it would flash... my e-brake switch underneath the dash was the problem the lever didnt want to stay high enough and was making the light stay on the whole time....
abs must be a sensor all fuses were good last time i checked....
maybe the e brake could of done something to the abs... i never tried if the abs works when e brake is on....

Does anyone have a scanned page of the fusebox? I remember taking the cover off and hard a hard time figuring out which was what. The owners manual didn't help either. ...Maybe at least the fuse and relay numbers?
I get B1145 with My ABS scanner. I've tried to reset all codes with the scanner and battery disconnect but it never goes away.
I have replaced the right front sensor once with a new OEM and then the hub with a OEM sensor already in place. What are the odds of three sensors in a row being bad? So most likely a short in one of the wires. I'm not sure why a bad fuse or relay would only have issues with just one side.
Oh, i've also replaced the rotors and brake lines with new SS braided ones and new fluid.
