Default Brake controller

Just being a bit lazy here. Purchased a used brake controller from a friend and I'm just wondering how difficult it would be to install the controller in my truck.

The truck is a 2005 F150 XLT that is equipped with a towing package with the plugs (4-flat and 7-pin round) for hooking up trailer wiring.

Thanks in advance.

It's a piece of cake! If it takes you longer than a 1/2 hour your doing it wrong. You should have a bag in the glove box with a relay and a harness with a plug on one end. All it is is plug in the relay and plug in a harness that plugs in to a wire harness behind the dash at right knee height. Just wire your controller to the bare end of the harness you plugged in. Just remember that the colors from a non Ford controller don't necessarily match the colors on the harness. Mine had 2 colors that were different fromthe harness.
