Default Both IWE actuators bad ???????

I've been having a slight vibration in my front end so on a whim I checked my 4x4 system the IWE actuator on both sides stay engaged when vacuum is taken away or applied.

Just so I'm clear after a lot of reading...This means they are bad, right?

Well that depends is vacuum at the IWE? Engaged there at least a chance they could still be good. No vacuum at the IWE and not engaged is bad for sure

Yes,there's vacuum and the shafts spin...take vac hoses off and the shafts still spin.

how do you know theres vacuum at the IWE ? Vacuum applied to the IWE disengages the IWE.. you could have a leak in one of your lines that is preventing the IWE's for dis engaging .. perform a vacuum test using a vacuum pump before you start tossing parts at it.. there's also a couple check valves in the system after the IWE solenoid with also could be your culprit.

If I pull the lines off at the hub actuators when the truck is running there's plenty of vacuum in the lines...

I diagnosed it using this....

There can be vacuum but not enough. You need a gauge to be certain. You also need to test for leaks. Weak vacuum will cause engagement.

Much cheaper if you do it yourself, and not difficult either.
