Default Borla Exhaust Install

Hello everyone.

After much discussion about which exhaust system to get I decided to go with Borla VS Flowmaster & Mangaflow.

I have some great responses on the difficulty of this install. Most said it would take a little time in the drive way. Hard part was to get the original OEM exhaust out.

Now this is my question: I will try to attempt this myself, will I need to weld? Or cut the original exhaust right behind the catalytic converter? If I do need to cut how far behind the cat do I need to cut?

Thanks guys!

I did mine on the ground. I cut it after the muffler. You need to slip off the pipe in front of the muffler(behind the cat) and clean it up real good, then the borla slips right on.

Just did it, and its exactly as you said. Pretty basic. Just a pain in the *** to remove the original in one piece.

Thanks for the tip

Why not cut up the stock stuff so it comes out easier?

I didn’t want to cut the original exhaust because I garage my truck; I leave every morning at 6am. I was wondering if the rumble of the exhaust would wake the wife. If it did I could mount the original back on.

But to give you guys an update. The exhaust sound awesome. I get this low rumble sound. Loud enough to let people know I am there, but not loud to be annoying.

I would like to get a couple of picts up, but I am new at that. After I have the pict what steps do I go thought to get it posted?
