I think all OEM's do this with at least 1 part. I had a 94 Grand Am Gt with a hydraulic clutch and the hydraulic reservoir was a plastic container that held about 6 ounces of fluid. Well the reservoir cracked and I needed a new 1, you could only order the cap for the reservoir separately. If you wanted the reservoir you had to order the reservoir with the slave cylinder cable and the clutch master cylinder. 300 dollars later your car is working again. BTW, I checked all the junk yards and they were all cracked or getting ready to crack in the same place.

Like I said, I am pro Motorcraft all the way, but when I used BWD boots and springs, they not only performed like OEM but after thousands of miles, I didnt have a concern with them letting me down.

Default Boots can fail when gasoline gets on them /

Lost number one fuel injector so when I pulled fuel rail, gas pooled on well on top of boot . In short it killed the brand new boot i just installed on number one plug causing misfiring . . There is no marking for fuel pump fuse on my 2005 f150, and the fuel pump relay is soldered in on the back of fuse panel , So I pulled battery grd cable but I didn't wait long enough for fuel pressure to bleed off so it came gushing out . This model does not have a gas return line to the tank , it has a pressure sensor on the fuel rail to demand fuel pressure when needed- just for your info . There is no schrader valve on fuel rail either to check pressure or bleed it off.

I have used the ones from Rock Auto that I had mentioned.

When I changed my OEM boots with the Standard Motor Product ones had the same mold marks on them and the part# mold in was the only difference. The color was even the same. The only way I could tell the difference was the feel of new rubber

Who knows they could be the OEM supplier.
