Default To Boot or Not To Boot

I had 4WP install Bilstein Front Adjustable Shocks on my son's F150. Today I noticed that one of the Shocks did not have a boot on it. So I called their shop and they said that they do not recommend putting the boot on the shock. I don't know if they are telling me this because they forgot to put one on or is it recommended to run the shock without the boot?

Now I have to decide to put one boot on or take one boot off. Do you guys/gals run your shocks with or without the boot?

Thanks

No personal experience. But I have read boots will just stay rust it out faster since it traps dirt, water, and mud.

Not recommending is a load of crap haha I think in the instructions on installing your bilsteins it says to reuse the oem boot. But in my personal experience I run without them cause they both broke off anyways. I also like that I can now check for leaks and shaft damage.

If the boot is in proper condition... it protects the shaft from this...
