Default The Blue Clip

Went to change my fuel filter this morning, oh yeah piece of cake easy peazzy what could be hard about two fuel hoses right? Right on baby... Then, what the heck is it blue clip thing???? How the hell does it work?

Try, try, try. Ah ha! got it!

Quick summary how the blue clip thingy works.

- Pull out the inner tab ( about 1/8 of an inch) very fragile don't use too much force or else will break.
- Push in the outer tab while pulling the hose apart.

The output side of the filter is typical fuel line you need a 3/8 tool.

Same here... Five minute job turned into thirty because of those stupid connectors. My motor side connector was a pain too. Thought I was going to break the springs. Finally got it out and the old filter was rattling when I shook it. This is a simple maintenance that so many people fail to keep up with but it's a very important one.

yeah! I don't want bash Ford but man they've been making a killer on these F150 trucks, you think they would use a decent metal hose clamp right. I hate this plastic trend of auto industries.

That tool is needed for the engine side of the filter, but for the gas tank side which is the blue clip you don't need a tool, just follow what I said earlier in this thread and you'll be OK.
