Default Block Plug

So im up here in Alaska, and for a winterizing kit, you can put a heat plug on the bottom of your block for the coolant. Well i changed it(drained the fluid), cause it broke the seal, or whatever happened, Filled up, let it run, for the fluid to flow threw.

It seemed fine, but a few mins driving my truck started beeping cause it was over heating. I pulled over turned the truck off for about 5 mins. Temp was fine, repeated a few more times.. so i checked the hoses and they were cold...wtf? I started to squeeze them and the coolent in the reservoir was being sucked into the radiator.

i figured it would have done this on its own. Anyone have a problem like this? or is it one
