Default Blacking Out Headlights and Taillights

Im looking into blacking out my headlights and taillights. Im not going to use VHT nightshades or any other form of film or spray on. Im looking into actual black or very dark smoke lights. Not covers, the full lights. If yalll have any suggestions it would really be appreciated and i would love some pictures please.

The few tinted aftermarket tails I've seen look like crap IMO. Why don't you want to use VHT? Best method I think; lets you control the darkness.

Worries me simply because there is a disclaimer for "off-road use only"

Im well aware you can see the lights fine through them but i would hate to have some dumbass tailend me and try to claim he couldnt see me braking.

Just be sure you comply with the "legal" they different from area to are but in Texas tail lights needs to be seen from 500 ft or something like that and brake lights from 1000. Just check the laws, any local State Inspection place will be able to tell you the regulations, and most have the light meter needed to make sure the output is enough.
And if you use anything other than translucent paint there is a high chance they WILL be illegal.

Any dark tinted tail is illegal technically, no matter what state. From the sounds of it, that's what you're looking for. I would just VHT them and get some AUX brake lights. I throw my AUX reverse lights on anyone tail gating me.

Nite shade is definitely the way to go. My suggestion is to tape off the Reverse lights, or make sure you have auxillary lighting facing backwards. I blacked out my whole light and in reverse my visibility is very minimal. Just a tip.

EDIT: And one can will be plenty, go easy with the stuff, you can always make them darker, but making them lighter is very tough if not impossible.

Haven't done it yet but I will be soon. Looking to get an LED brake light about 12" long to mount in between my tail gate and bumper. It's made for a trailer but is real slim and will fit nice. My AUX reverse lights are KC lights.
