I actually just powder coated my stock rims. A lot cheaper then new rims and I love the way they look.

Random question for anyone who knows anything about powder coating. The machined parts the little squares and the lip mainly on these wheels I want to leave machined and the rest powder coated in gloss black can it be done?

Yes it can, but much more expensive unless a small shop is doing it.
What neneds done is everything you want uncoated tape off. Then after the powder is sprayed on, pull the tape carefully then heat for appropriate time.
A larger shop would hit you pretty hard for that little bit of extra work.

I gotta a small shop that does a set of wheels for 100 and I'm sure he won't mind if I ask him to do it of I mask it off before hand.

Black rims would look nice on your truck. However, chrome would be good looking too. If you have the money then buy some rims you find appealing. If your on a budget then save up, for some new rims. IMO, painting stock rims is not any nicer than having them "stock." Although, it's your decision... like always.

I've always been a fan of black wheels on a red truck! However I would never rattle can them or plasti-dip them like everyone seems to be doing now, just looks cheap to me. I'd save up, keep searching the forums for pictures of red trucks with black wheels. That's what im doing. Can't decide on black or chrome for my truck.
