Default Big BooBoo, broke outside rear view mirror

F150 Screw Lariat, backing out of garage hit column ... DARN! Looks expensive, and hard to replace ... but biggest issue is identifying what I need.

VISUALLY, on RockAuto, it looks like a FO1320357 8L3Z17683GA with some letter appended. It has a chrome top, so probably GA, but also GAPFM.

How do I know, and is there a better source? A quic web search brings up wheelstiresandmore.com for a few $$ less, but ...

So what do you experienced folks recommend?

Thanks, George

When I replaced mine. I bought a used Ford OEM one from Ebay. Pretty easy to install.

I've done that before on things, but there aren't any there ... today. I may tape something in and wait a while, or may bite the bullet.

The door liner has to be removed to get to the fasteners, and that doesn't look simple ... not terrible, but not trivial.

Easy to remove the panel, notice in the video it lifts up an inch or so after all the fasteners are removed.

Really not that bad...
1)Unscrew and remove the door lock ****
2)Unsnap the center from the interior door handle and remove the two bolts
3)Pop off the switch panel and unplug the connectors, then remove the bolt underneath
4)Pop off the speaker grille and remove the speaker (also remove the two lower plastic screw holders for the speaker fasteners-squeeze them on the back side and pull them straight out)
5)Remove a couple screws at the very bottom of the door panel
6)Lift the door panel straight upward and off

Its actually pretty easy to replace. Do as shown and described above. The mirror can be expensive depending on where you're looking. When I bought mine the drivers side was slightly broken. Not a deal breaker but the salesman said Ill get that fixed. Well long story short we swung a deal where I will replace it if it ever shows up! He thought he'd just order one through the dealership. Ooops! They want $1,000 for a new one for my truck! My local shop wants $840 then will have to PTM
the skull cap! Find one on Ebay and buy there. Can be replaced in 30 minutes or less if you know what you're doing.
