Default Better mpg

Would a k&n cai or a edge evo programmer give me the most increase in mpg? This wont be my last truck so I'd like to take these with me lol. Right now I got an 04 xlt extended cab and want a 4 door lariat 08. Prefer the 5.4 but the 4.6 is what I got now and love it haha.

I think the K&N would be the way to go. My friend recently got a brand new Silverado and faced the same decision, got a top of the line programmer, and used it for a few months to make it through the supposed "break in period" only to find that it really made no difference at all in his mpg. He's currently trying to sell it. They do increase throttle response, and have different modes for optimal torque, horsepower, ect, but can't really do anything about mpg. On the other hand a larger air filter would increase airflow to the engine, creating a richer mixture with your gas, increasing power. More efficient for the same amount of gas. I'm no mechanic, but I know people who are and that is exactly what they have told me.

Your not going to notice any increase in mpg with cai or evo.

K&N, Exhaust, and Edge seems to give people the best results
