Default edge

I purchased an edge programmer that was tested by offroad magazine in one of their trucks (can view their install and results at their website.) Its one of the first for gasoline trucks, it cost me $400.00 with their discount they were running. It installed in literally 5 min, and iam 100% happy with it!!! ( i believe it was called an edge evolution)

The first and largest change is that i was able to adjust the computer for my larger than stock tires, which in turn made the ride (for lack of a better word, smoother and more stock feeling when shifting and such.) Also i have noticed more "get up and go" and firmer shifting. Now this is all with the chip set on #2 "towing and hauling". It can be set on 0,1,2, or 3. I HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest going to the off road magazine website and reading their review and seeing their dyno charts with rear-wheel hp and ft lb of torque, i find these to be quite accurate and i would agree with their article. My gas mileage has increased by a mile and a half (although i switched from 87 to 91 octane.) Also the chip allows for 1/4 mile times, error code readings with the ability to reset them, change in shift points, removal of the speed/rev limiter, and a list of other things. Remember though that the increase in fuel is because i drove it like i did before and dont "go on the gas to hard." Also the chip requires 91 octane if set on the 3rd setting "race" setting, which does provide a noticeable difference. Lastly the reason i dont have it on the 3rd setting is that i dont want to cause to much unesessary damage to my tranny, and also i dont go to hard on the truck with the chip for the same reason, although i dont see how the 50some hp gain on #3 would hurt to terribly much on a half ton truck.
