Best Android Head Units ?
I am looking to buy an Android Head Unit for my truck and wondering if you guys can suggest a good make that has a nice clear screen and lots of options. I am trying to get one that has atleast android 5.1 and higher and would like 7" or larger screen if possible. I have been searching but there is a lot of different makes of them out there. Thanks
This is a nice setup:

Now the android version for most of the headunits are 6 and above. You could found it in amazon and eBay, and this "https://www.seicane.com/android-car-dvd-gps/android-ford-car-dvd-gps" ,also the android car radio for Ford.I'm sure that you could find the appropriate one.
Torqued thanks for the shout out but I'm no longer known as StephenG on here anymore. It's now BadFish. I REALLY like my setup but unfortunately I still can not find the Pumpkin unit I have anymore. I'm guessing that it is discontinued. Since Pumpkin has discontinued theirs here is one that is similar from
. I do not know anything about Enon or thier head units. I have had 2 Android HUs in this truck and I can tell you that most of the "universal" android units do NOT fit very well even with a dash kit. Chinese universal is apparently not the same as US universal. Then on top of that both of mine have had their little quirks, dropping bluetooth, screen not liking warm temps, poor use of storage, ect. Some of these issues like any android device can be fixed with a restart, some are just a side effect of cheap Chinese manufacturing. I'm a firm beliver that Android shoot probably even IOS is the future for car stereos. I can try to answer any specific questions you have based on my experience with this truck and Android HUs.
I had a Joying in my 2015, but haven't upgraded the 2017. Joying currently has the best community support for non PX3/PX5 units. The Intel Sophia chipset does offer some advantages over the ARM based models. There are a couple threads over on xda-developers that provide automation tools to mod a Joying to your wants and needs.
I also had a Samsung ARM based unit for a few months before trading the 15 on the 17. Be prepared to trim the radio bezel as these Chinese head units are slightly bigger than a standard double din at the face plate. Not sure about the 04-08 dash kits as it's been a while since I had the 07.
IMO, an Android Head Unit can be pretty awesome, but typically requires some software tweaks to get it there.
