Unhappy Best 4.6 intake manifold?

I used to have an old F150 and was in here frequently, but she's gone and I'm truckless. But, I have another Ford and I could really use the collective knowledge of this community one more time. I have a 2008 E250 SuperDuty with a 4.6 liter, and just discovered it's got an intake manifold leak from the left rear corner. I need a new intake manifold. Ford/Motorcraft intakes are $400+ and I was wondering if there are any aftermarket intakes that are any good that I could use instead. I've heard there are problems with Dorman intakes, but AM autoparts has intakes for $120 with 10 year warranty. I don't want to do the job twice, but on the other hand, I don't want to spend more than I have to for a quality part.
I was quoted $1400 for a new manifold, installed. I have no idea if that's a fair price or not. All I know is I don't have $1400. And this is my work vehicle, I can't afford to make a mistake and burn up the motor.

Please help. What are some good intakes that I can use (from your personal experience) and what else will I need? New 'stat? throttle body gasket? Is there an EGR valve I'll need a gasket for as well ?

I put a Dorman on my old 2000 4.6 and it worked fine. They say you will notice a little less power with the Dorman but to me it was very little if any at all.

I’ve sold plenty of dorman intakes over the years, haven’t had any ever come back.

I’m not one for being a fan of Dorman depending on what part we’re talking about... like their cam phasers are terrible. BUT their 4.6 intake is actually a decent product. My other suggestion is OE.

UPDATE: Well my local mechanic got the job done. The Dorman intake is in, no problems. While he was in there, I had him replace all the plugs with new Motorcraft SP493 plugs, new Motorcraft DG-508 coils, and I didn't trust the thermostat in the Dorman kit, or the o-ring/seal that was in there as well, so the old van now has a Motorcraft 'stat and Fel-Pro thermostat housing outer seal, as well as new injector o-rings.
Conclusion? It runs GREAT !! I got 168k miles out of the first intake manifold, hoping to get close to that with this new one.

@Kymasabe
if you happen to see this, how did the dorman hold up over long term?
