Default Bed vibration/shaking

I recently bought a 06 stx and I noticed that the bed is shaking a good amount and causing bad vibrations inside the vehicle. Just wondering if anyone knows If this is a common problem with these trucks and what I would need to fix it?

Shaking over bumps or just going down a smooth road? Vibrations on a smooth road could be misalignment or unbalanced tired.

If it's shaking over bumps, its pretty common on f150s to have some bed shake. Look at other trucks when your driving down the road and you will see most trucks have it. Thin sheet metal on the beds is basically just flexing, plus your mirrors are shaking a bit which adds to the effect.

Ford does make a dampener thing that goes in the bed and is supposed to help, but I haven't heard of anyone installing one. With that said, some F150s don't move at all, and others do. So maybe the ones that don't move have the dampener installed.

I am dealing with shaking too on my 05 FX4, more than I think it should be. Made a couple posts about it too but didn't get many responses. For me the driver side seems worse and it shakes just going over unsmooth roads, not just bumps. Right now I'm in the middle of replacing all the leaf spring and shackle bushings to see if that helps or solves the issue - won't be done though until next Tuesday or Wednesday because I needed to order some more parts, but I'll try and reply back once I'm done and report on how it worked out.

I found out that my tires are cupped pretty bad and I guess that could be the culprit, luckily I have new wheels and tires getting installed Tuesday so we shall see if that fixes the shaking.

Your rear tires are cupped? I would suspect your shocks are shot if you have wear on you rear tires.
