I wouldn't do it either but that's my personal preference.

If you want to, go for it.

Ever see the bed liner when it gets dirty? I don't think it really stays black once it gets dirty.

I agree it's nice looking on a jeep, but don't think I would do on my truck.

However I will state that I have put two coats of Spar marine varnish on the inside of my bed liner and now it has a shine and stays clean and new looking all the time, it also make for easy cleaning. I did it as a mistake as I was coating my removable wood floor for shows. Here is a pic so you can see it with Spar on the liner.

Wow, that looks nostalgically nice!...What are those handles/mounts for in the bed?

Tie downs hooks, unless you are talking about attached to the bed floor then that's for my two tool boxes which get Velcroed down.

THIS! It may be functional at times on a Jeep, avoiding scratches on the trail, crawling on the Jeep (stepping on a hood, fender).

Also remember a Jeep has a lot less paint surface (unless top is on).

Default I did it

I live in the Northeast and bed lined my whole work truck because of rust issues. Being a builder in the city my truck takes a lot of abuse. I used raptor paint to spray the whole truck. Cost about $200 total and ten hours or so of work. I also treated and sprayed down areas where water collects to avoid more rust. It looks real cool but there really is no going back. If I were you I would bed line your truck bed with something like Herculiner and see how you like it. DIY kits at Pep Boys are like $90 right now.
