Default Bed Covers

I have a 2006 F-150 Ext Cab Short Bed and I'm in the market for a hard bed cover.

Anyone familiar with Armor Lid brand? Local dealer sells Undercover brand for $835 +Tax but will sell me a Armor Lid brand for $625 +Tax. Says they are almost identical.

I am going to stop out this weekend and look, but wondered if anyone has any knowledge of Armor Lid brand.

Any other brands out there that are cheaper? Looking for Black, Hard, Hinge, easy to remove, light weight, durable, lockable.

Thanks in advance.

depends on what you want and are going to be doing with your bed.
i want full access so i went with a bakflip F1. the guys i know that have a hinged cover like an Armor Lid brand. wish they had got something else. limited access, there heavy to remove. shocks can fail after just a year.

but if you dont need full access, you use it more like a big trunk than for hauling or loading it up. go for it.

if your worried about needing the shocks to help you access the bed.

look into a bakflip, my wife was surprised at how easy it is to use.

I have a Diamondback cover, and I love it. The HD has a bunch of tiedowns on it, and they say that you can put two ATVs on top of it. Hinged in the centercomes off very easily, locks, and you can have it Linuxed in color. Very cool setup.
