Default BB in oil pan???

Truck started vibrating pretty harsh. Check engine light came on, gas it checked and it showed code P0430. A lot wrong basically with only trouble shooting to see. We noticed an oil leak in gasket so dropped all that and when cleaning oil pan found a metal “BB” in there.. then was told that could be motor bearing??? So where do I start? What do I look/listen for if it is a motor bearing. Also, it’s saying possible vacuum leak but I not sure where to find it. Found one hose that was dry rotted and replaced. The code says a lot about bank 2 catalyst system .. any guidance or direction would be great!!

This is code info print out

Internal engine bearings are flat. They don't use tiny round bearings like that.

Where would it have come from? It’s literally a smal round silver ball like the size of a BB

Probably timing chain guides breaking down, may be a check ball in the adjuster?

Can you elaborate on the check ball in adjuster?

any idea where or how to trace this vacuum leak or how to determine if it is in fact the CC?

Cat codes are usually the symptom, not the cause. I'd be looking for other codes.

The check ball is a guess, some older engines with oil pressure driven tensioners had check ***** in the adjuster to hold oil pressure somewhat between starts.

Have you owned the truck long? Sometimes a BB is in fact, a BB, and the truck was victim of vandalism prior to your purchase?

Beyond that, I'm wracking my head to think of something that has either ball bearings or ball-check-valves in the oiling circuit, and the above hypothesis is the best I can think of also, unless perhaps the phaser and/or oil pump has such parts?

My brother bout the truck a few years ago to just use round town. He barley drive it ever. We bought it from him a month ago and we have been using it as a primary vehicle bc my brother in law driving my car. Seems the more we drive it the more shows up.

we cannot seem to figure out vacuum leak or what is causing it to vibrate so harshly and just sounds awful.. there is at times a shrill or whistle sound also.. it’s a 2005 f150 lariat with close to 180,000... A mechanic had it for a week before bc it was loosing oil and his diagnosis was it wasn’t a oil leak or anything but it was burning oil.. but when we got it and changed it 2 weeks later it was 2 quarts low on oil and there was oil all around the pan/gasket underneath so we changed that last night and thats how we found the BB and piece of plastic. Ran some sea foam through it also to clean it out... but.. again more we use truck more seems to mess up. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️
