my truck has been having some electrical problems. the battery is constantly dieting and I'm having to jump it with a friends cars. The weird thing is when it dies my lights stay on even when met truck is dead. The lights are even on when my lights are set to off. Info needed

Get your battery tested at the parts store. It's probably junk....

I would also take a look at the battery cables for rust.

happened to me also, while on my way to college. It was in the morning and was pouring really hard, I go outside to leave for class and my lights turned on, but my truck wouldnt start, then everything went dead. Switched the battery and good like new.

Get the battery tested, and also clean the connections at the battery. Corroded and nasty white and green flaking at the battery also is killing you. It takes alot more amperage to start your truck then turning the lights on. If you have an amp, you might want to mod the wire from the alternator to the battery. Increase the size of that wire to a heavier gauge so it can handle a heavier current flow. There is a mod for that but I do not remember the name of it.....It also changes the ground connection. This is kind of off topic, but if you do run an amp they do increase amperage draw, thus needing more current flow from the alternator to the battery. So it could be relevant.

Why is your battery "dieting"? Is it over weight? lol Seriously, you may have a lightswitch which is sticking on. Check your brake lights. The brake light switch has been the culprit many times. You can get a test light and connect in line with the battery cable and battery post. The light may be lit dimly b/c of clocks, memory seats, etc. If it is real bright, start pulling fuses. When you get to the problem circuit the bulb will either go out or go dim. Good luck!
