+1 or 2 or whatever to the previous posters. A battery is a battery. Unless you're driving a Prius, they are all the same. You may be right on about the belts, which can cut back your charging system, but the age of your truck is right around component failure in the alt.

You can take it to most parts stores now days and have the alt tested in the truck.

I used to work at a napa and the little handheld tester worked awesome,

Also if you are going to buy an alt don't get a reman get a NEW one or a ford one.

Just my 0.02 cents

A battery from a Ford dealer is about the same price as one from a parts store and it fits perfectly.

When my original battery went over the winter after 7 years and 120k I went to the dealer and bought a new one. I figured if the original lasted that long it made sense to get the same thing again.
