The truck has the original battery, but now itīs time for a new one.
Itīs a BXT 65-650
How many ampere hours (Ah) are necessary?
Itīs a 5.4 FX4 from 2005

Aren't car batteries rated by cranking amps (CA) and cold cranking amps (CCA), not amp hours, because car batteries don't have to supply a steady current?

Automotive batteries are rated by cold cranking amps..its used as a starting battery..deep cycle batteries are rated by AH because they have a steady current or draw on the constantly..most f-150 with the 5.4l need about 700 CCA

F150s until I think 2010 came wit hthe bxt 65-650 now they come with the 540 cca. If it were me i would stick with atleast the 650. If you go to the dealer most charge the same for the 850 as the 650.

I replaced mine with a 1000 / 850 CCA battery from Costco. I immediately could tell a difference when I cranked up the truck and for cold weather areas I would say that would be a must.
