Default Bad upper ball joints

My 2007 f150 4x4 with 37k miles needs both upper ball joints. They are starting to make noise. I lifted it up and when you rock the wheel there is a good amount of play on both sides. Is it common for them to go bad with this low of mileage.

I don't know that it's common, but it's definitely not unheard of.

I just had my truck in for its 35K mile front end rebuild......35K upper ball joints,77K lower ball joints and springs, there was a bad tie rod end in there somewhere, too.

no leveling kit, its all stock. I just bought it 2000 miles ago so I dont know what the previos owner did with the truck. It doesn't look like the struts were ever off the truck but I cant say for sure.

Just replaced all 4 of mine at 60k. I bout it with 40k on it, so I don't know how the previous owner treated it, but it still seems pre-mature to me at 60k.

You have to buy the whole upper control arm.
