Default Bad transfercase or tranny? help. please.

ok, my truck has 20" wheels.

i went and checked out a set of 22" wheels to buy.

i put two of the 22" wheels in the front .... i still had my original 20" wheels in the back, and i drove about 5 miles.

.... now, my truck has a weird type of mild, metal rubbing type sound coming from the tranny area .... or maybe the transfer case

i never knew you couldn't drive with different size wheels/tires.

here are my truck details.
2004 f150
5.4
automatic
4x4 lariat electric shift

any thoughts?

Check your heat shields under your cab, they may be rubbing the driveshaft, bent or loose...
I don't understand how 22's would cause an issue like that, especially if you didn't use 4wd.

Last bearing in trans if you can raise the truck and put in drive noise should be at back of trans. Then put in reverse the noise should go away when you put it in reverse the planetary pulls off that bearing and the noise will go away. May not be it but it's a common problem with noise from that area.
