Bad ignition coil

Question Bad ignition coil

hey guys

could a bad ignition coil cause my my truck to be making gear grinding noises
?

i took it to ford for a bad tranny and they said there was a bad ignition coil which could be causing the noises i hear.

does this sound right or am i getting played?

A bad coil will cause missing and bucking which could be mis-diagnosed as transmission problems. I don''t think it would cause gear grinding noises. Hard to tell without hearing it in person.

alright so hopefully these noises i hear were caused by this coil and hopefully everything went away.

I had same problem, thought my trans was going out. Turned out to be bad coil. Ford replace coil & spk plug, fixed the problem

they changed the coil i don't think they changed the plug. im sure the coil could have fouled out the plug and im going to be boned again
