Default backup camera installation

Where is the best place to access the switched ignition and backup light wires?

For backup camera, just take the power from your reverse lights. That's how I've had mine running for a couple years now. You'll need to run it to the camera and to the headunit to it has the signal to turn the headunit to the camera input when you put the truck in reverse.

If you have the 7 pin wire harness for towing, you can tap the reverse wire from there. Pick your own ground or make one if you want. It's all metal back there.
