Default Backup Camera Discolorment and Flicker

Hey all,

A week ago I installed an OEM backup camera off of a 2014 F150 (Emblem camera).
My issue I'm having is that the picture coming through is extremely discolored making it basically useless in all situations because its just a white screen during the day or black at night.

If I turn the camera on while I'm driving the picture will flicker between discolored to a perfect image. I discovered that when I fling the RCA cable around the display will flicker between a perfect image and discolored image.

So I replaced the RCA cable with a 35ft cable (had to cut the one end off so I could splice it into the positive and negative coming out of the OEM camera). I replaced it because my original cable had 2 RCAs spliced together to be able to reach from rear bumper to the head unit. Anyways, its still doing the same thing.

I know that the camera is connected properly (12v+, 12v-, video +, and video -) because the camera simply doesnt work with it being connected any other way. I've tried switching the 12v- and 12v+ directly to a grounded bolt and the + terminal on the battery only to have no difference. I even tried wrapping the RCA wire in tin foil to shield it better thinking this could be interference causing my issues to no cigar.

Any recommendations? I'm completely stumped.

And no my connections aren't loose. They're soldered together.

I was going to suggest grounding directly to the frame but I see you already tried that. Could be in the HU, could be in the camera. Only way to test that would be find another camera and test to see if it still does it with that camera. If so then you need a new camera. If not then its something in the HU. Also can you wire it without splicing? Eve if you are very good at it that could be the connection problem. Im leaning towards something in the HU though. Warranty?
