I just bought a 2007 F-150 STX so I didn't get hardly any options. I had an old 93' which had an axle code 19 I eventually changed it to an H9 then I guess an HH because I put limited slip on both. What I was wondering was, are these the same 8.8" carriers of the older F-150's? Are the compatible? Can I get a limited slip chunk from a 97-2004? Is there a way to know for sure from the door code if it is even an 8.8"? I mean its an STX so I DOUBT very seriously it has a 9.75 or 10.xx" Any input?

 

really no replies? No one on this forum has cracked open their 8.8 to see if the chunks are the same, gears are the same number of splines for the axles as the previous F-150's. NO ONE???

 

Did they even put 8.8"s in these trucks or did they go with a larger axle?

It is a 10 bolt and definatly looks like a standard run of the mill 8.8. Is it the same chunk (carrier) as the older ones? Is it still just the 31 spline axle? I guess what I really want to know is will an old Explorer, Ranger, older F-150 fit it? I want the Trac Lock upgrade.
