Default Automatic start with manual locks and windows

I have an 04 F150 STX with manual windows and locks and would like an automatic start. I don't need security and do not plan to upgrade to electric locks and/or windows. Is this possible? I need it mostly for winter mornings so I can deice my windsheild before work. Has anyone done this or know if it is possible? I assume it should be but was unsure if the electric locks were needed for some reason or another? I won't be doing an install myself, there is a shop that is worth the extra $100 I will pay so I won't have a headache of wires (I will attempt almost anything on my vehicle except wiring).

Yes it is possible. I would let the dealer install or whoever you buy it from. I thought about installing one myself but there is some wires you have to tap into and you run the risk of messing it up.

I will be taking it to a very reputable shop for the install. They installed in my dads 07 F150 and everything was flawless so far. His has power everything though so it was not an issue.

yes it is possible. Very simple install as well. You will need the remote start module and the PATS bypass module as well. You will also need two keys to program the bypass module. It actually doesnt take but maybe 4 wires to cut and splice if you get the DBALL from directed electronics which has a D2D plug which makes things a little easier. Though if your not familiar with soldering and how to test wires than its something i wouldnt recommend doing yourself. Just make sure that you ever you take it to is going to solder all the connections. This is the insures that no connections will ever come loose. Which it could create a headache for you down the road. I wouldnt recommend the remote start from the dealer as it has a very limited range.

I would recommend this unit by Python as it has a decent range and as well as a two way paging remote. Two will allow the vehicle to communicate with you to let you know if the vehicle was started or not. Something you will not get with a factory remote start. The other link is the bypass module youll need.
