What exactly does the auto lock do? I tried to set mine so the doors lock automatically when I exit the truck. Is this what it does? Thanks-

 

I believe it locks the doors once the truck is put into gear.

 

Well that explains why it doesn't work when I shut my doors. I don't understand why anybody would want to disable it if that's the case? The doors open from inside whether they are locked or not? My key fob only works when I'm like 10 feet away, any further and I'm outta luck. I was hoping that the doors automatically locked after a set amount of time. I have a habit of forgetting to lock my truck and don't want to invite some ahole to help themselves to my DVD, gun and GPS. Oh well, I gotta get used to locking! Thanks-

 

Actually I hate it. I have kids and have to get out and walk around the truck to let them out. I usually forget to unlock the doors so have to walk back around, unlock it, and then go get the kid out of the car seat.

 

If you could set the door to automatically lock when you get out, I would hate to think how many times you would lock your keys in the car!
