Default Another tire question

Ok so i have 275/70R18 Goodyear Duratracs currently mounted on my stock fx4 wheels. IS it possible for me to mount these tires, not getting new tires they only have like 3k miles on them, onto a 18x9 wheel? Say the MotoMetal 951 or any other 18x9 of my choosing. The reason i ask is because according to good year the max rim width is 8.5, but i was just reading another thread and saw somebodys signature and they have this exact setup. And If i can is there anything unsafe with doing this or is it just a matter of half an inch?

I currently have to same size duratrac on my fx4 wheels, and right know they look a little skinny. So you could mount them on a 18x9 but they will look real small.

Yes you can do it I actually have the same setup. If you are out of the recommended range by 1/2" or even an 1" max you won't see any odd wear but if you go more extreme than that you will start to have problems with how your tires wear.
