Talking Another Tire question :)

Ok Ive been browsing around. A lot. Have a couple questions I can't seem to get a straight answer on.

I have a 2005 F150 Lariat 4x4 w/5.4

It has a 2in leveling kit.

IM currently running 275/65 R18, (some bald Goodyear a/t tires) on the factory wheels. Im stuck between two diffrent tire sizes. (Cooper Discoverer STT)

275/70 R18

and

35/12.50 R18
....

SO I'm wondering, would the 35's rub? Would i need new gears to run the 35/12.50?

Thanks

Yes, the 35x12.5 will likely rub. Very wide tire, and if its a MT it will likely rub both the fender and the spindle/control arm. The 35s are also much heavier so expect a big hit in MPG and I would highly recommend regearing.

The 275/70r18 is a skinny 33" tire that will fit well and be much lighter weight, probably a better option for a leveled truck.

I've got an 08' Lariat, with a 2.5'' leveling kit on the front, and 295/60R20's (basically 34.5) and they fit in the back just fine without any problem. They rub in the front a tiny bit if im cranking the wheel all the way but its totally fine

Yes 35s will rub the control arms some at full lock but not to bad. Mpgs will drop (mine did). But it is worth the aggressive stance and look in my opinion. I have pics on my profile if you like to see

Ive got a '07 4x4 with a 2.5" level and I went with 295/70r18 trail grapplers (34.5" tire) and honestly they give me the look of a 35" tire with a lower price tag and that slight bit of room so that nothing rubs. Just food for thought.

Old pic but you get the idea of the size.
