Default Another A/C issue

05 FX4 5.4 I have owned for a while now.
The A/C has never been great. I have added refrigerant a few times to help but only made a slight difference. Now I have no A/C at any time. What I have noticed is that the clutch kicks on and off about every 3-4 seconds. Is that normal?

I have put a gauge on the high pressure line and the pressure bounces up and down with the clutch engaging and disengaging. It is tough to get a reading.

Any help is appreciated.

First .. I would take the reading from the low pressure side like when you are adding Freon.. If its over charged let some out.. the A/C compressor will shut down if over charged to protect itself.. you could also have a bad clutch.. but, you need to verify proper charged first. don't forget to set the outside temp dial on your gauge correctly.
