Default amp & sub question

I have an 06 F150 with factory 6 disk player I have a chance to buy a factory amp and subwoofer by JBL for a good price. Will this just plug in to existing harness or will I need to have this wired up ?

dont think the factory head unit will have the ports for wiring an amp directly to it but for $20 you can get a hi/low converter and then itll hook right up. thats what i had to do untill i get an aftermarket head unit.

This is a original equipment ford option on this truck I thought it should just be a matter of finding factory harness and plug into it.

rams150, i dont know anything about different ford options but every time i put a sub/amp combo into a vehicle with the stock head unit it has never had a place to wire up a sub and a hi/low converter was needed

I Think You Will Need A New Harness For Any After Market Radio You Put In. Installing The Harness Is Not A Big Deal. Also,, Alpine Makes A Cd Deck For The 05 And 06 Ford F 150's That Will Also Allow You To Keep The Use Of The Volume, Seek, And Scan Buttons That Are Located On The Steering Wheel. Im Not Sure If You Have The Radio Control Buttons On Your Steering Wheel As Well As The Radio Itself,,, But If You Do, This Deck Might Be Worth Checking Out. Dont Know If This Helped At All,,, But Just Some Extra Info For You... Good Luck!

http://replacementradios.com/index.p...560c8b8541f677

this site looks like it has and describes several different models of OEM Radios.

It looks like the radios with 3 plugs in the rear are ready for Subs and Aux Equip.

The ones with 2 are not ready for Subs, but are ready for aux. Equip like MP3, Sat, or Rear Control...

I have a basic Radio, but will be upgrading to one of the CD's...
