Default Amp Power Boards

I had pretty much decided to buy a set of powered running boards. I was trying to figure out how I wanted to pay for them cash or card, sell something or wait and save.
Just for the hell of it I punched in Power running boards on Craigs list and the first listing was a set of Amps off of a F150 $300. I took it as a sign and went and pick them up. Hope they are as good an option as I think they are.
My wife is short and the Amps drop down pretty low so that's good.
When I took it on the mountain trails a few weeks ago I broke one of the old boards on a rock, that's bad. The Amps give better clearence, that's good.
If only everything worked out like it does on paper.
Any input good or bad on these would be appreciated.

Only input I can provide is that you are correct with installing them to help ease the wife getting in and out of the truck. My wife is also short, and I used to worry that she would slip when getting in the truck. Even though some thing these running boards are ugly, I think they have a good, functional purpose.
The hidaways are a nice touch.
