Default Ambient light sensor for auto headlights

I have an xl that had a bad cluster and installed a good xlt. Everything works and my phantom dome light, cruise, and headlights work right now. My question is did anyone have to program the auto headlight function with forscan? The outside temp sensor was plug and play but the headlights don't seem to be. I have the xlt headlight switch with the "auto" position and the dash sensor installed.
thanks

It helps if you explicitly identify what you're working on....

Use Forscan to go into the VSM and see if there's a editable setting for the autolamps.

The sensor feeds into the VSM and the VSM then supplies power back to the headlight switch for that feature when the switch is set for AUTO.
