Default Ambient air temp sensor

After my recent timing job, I noticed my dash display for outside air temp is pegged at 140F.
Assuming this is default when the sensor loses signal?
Have inspected the sensor and the connection up front and nothing looked broken or stressed.
Does this sensor have a connection further upstream on the harness? Maybe something is not connecting correctly.

Yes connector C211 (grey colored 6 pin) and its located in the cab above the fuse box. Its unlikely you disturbed this with engine work.
What year is your truck?

Appreciated.

Yeah it is a 2005
Not worried about it but thought there may have been a sub connection in the engine bay that may not have seated properly.
When I get around to it, I will do some probing to check the sensor itself and the socket.

Find and unplug C211 and see if the AAT reading drops to -40, the usual default reading for an open circuit on Fords of this era.

I suspect that a reading of (+)140F is what you'd get if the sensor or its circuit was shorted.
