Default Alarm suggestions

So some ******* decided to key my truck! So I'm gonna finally invest in an alarm. What's does everyone prefer and what else would I need besides the alarm it's selfish? I remember being told about needed a bypass or something for the ignition. Thanks.

You need a bypass if you are also adding a remote start as well. If you are wanting to alarm if you get keyed again you will likely need a proximity sensor or a very sensitive shock sensor. I have always had viper/DEI alarms and been happy.

Yes i plan on adding a remote start. What brands make the bypass modules and how much do they run? Also a proximity sensor basically warns when someone is too close to the vehicle correct? Whoever keyed my vehicle obviously had a decent amount of time considering they keyed every door, front and rear fenders and the hood all in broad daylight of a grocery store parking lot so if this was to happen again im hoping the damage would be minimal and confined to just one part of the vehicle because of the prescence of an alarm.

My vote goes to DEI. Never had an issue with them in several different vehicles..
