Air conditioning thread
Ok so I just have a few questions, I learned yesterday while servicing my ac units on my 05 f150 (r134) and 1992 s10 blazer (r12) that if the compressor clicks on and off in a short amount of time (let's say 30 seconds) that the freon level is low... So if it clicks on and off frequently when it's low, how often is it supposed to click on and off when the freon level is at the right amount?
If you I need to try and reword all of this so y'all can understand what I'm trying to say let me know...and I'm glad I got my ac workin in both my Cars just in time! It's about to hit damn near 100 degrees here in Vegas this weekend
Thanks ahead of time

If you really want to make sure your a/c is operating within specifications, get an a/c manifold set and measure the operating pressures on both inlet and outlet side. They are about $50-70 and most come with both R-134 and R-12 adapters.
don't mean to highjack your thread but i just swaped engines in my 01 4.6, do you guys know if the ac on this model is an r12 or 134 and is the valve the one on the canister? again sorry for the hyjack but cant find anything with the serch feature on this.
Your truck will have R-134 there is a port on the accumulator and one on the line going to the condenser. If you had the system opened up I would recommend replacing the accumulator and orifice tube.
