Question af1 question

Well I figured I'm going to throw this at the guys that have them.I'm looking into getting the AF1 for my truck,it seems like according to my fellow F150 drivers this one seems to be the most popular. My brother in law owns a auto parts shop,I asked him to see if he would be able to order it for me.His supplier said they use to carry them but they were having a lot of problems
with the installation of them I believe it was something to do with them fitting.
I guess the question I'm trying to ask is, Has anybody had any problems with them or the installation of them or is this supplier pulling our chain?

I just ordered one for my 2007 and it should be here around 10/3 i'll let you know soon after. I got a response from a couple of people here on the site that say it takes about an hour or so to install.

Squirrel, I forgot to mention that if you don't have a tuner you should get the AF 1 with the 3" tube not the 3.5" tube as the truck will run lean. There are multiple posts here explaining this if you want to check into it.

how does that intake compare to say, a k&n intake that has a heat sheild that is supposed to keep the motor from sucking up hot air from under the hood?

I just ordered my tuner and it's going to be a while before the custom tunes to get here thats why I went with the 3" tube. It will also be handy if I ever have to remove the tunes and go back to the stock tune. I talked to the guy at Troyer Performance and he said there wouldn't be a whole lot of difference in performance between the 3" and 3.5". The guys at Troyer are very knowledgeable and helpful on Ford trucks.

Hey Lucky, I'm putting a lot of trust in the guys here at the site and Troyer by going with the AF 1. I really couldn't tell you anything about K&N's CAI, but I think it is one of the better ones.
