Default Advice

Hey everyone! New here to the forum and need some advice. I am thinking of buying a 2004 xlt 4x4 only thing is it has almost 200k miles on it. now that being said it has the 5.4engine is this a good engine? Would I just be wasting time and lots of money? The truck was used as a company truck lots of traveling any advice would be great!

welcome bro, i myself have a 2000 5.4 with 262,*** miles, i drive it daily and it is all good, the PO and PO's son were very **** about keeping up with oil changes, etc..
only thing about that many miles is you have to be careful of how hard you push it, which with that said, i take mine through mud pits, i pull trailers with it, shoot i even 'light-to-light' raced a charger r/t with it and won. i would take it to a good ASE certified mechanic and have them go over it front to back and check it all out. i wouldnt recomend a dealer for this because its likely they will either tell you they dont want to mess with it with that many miles on it, and try to talk you into buying one of their vehicles, or charge an ungodly amount of a dealer charge to pretty much walk under it with a flash light and say its good.
check this part of these forums out: likely to get more/better answers: https://www.f150forum.com/f4/

good luck!
