Default advice on 02 sensor replacement...

My truck threw 2 codes a few weeks ago, they are both for B1S1 02 sensor.(passengers side precat) I bought the sensor and dug in to replacing it today.

Getting to the sensors isn't an issue at all. Disconnecting the sensor wires from the truck is the problem as the engineering group at Ford decided it would be a good idea to mount it behind the passengers side head, between that and the firewall to give you like 2 inches and no arm room to wiggle yourself in there to pull it apart.

My questions are,

How do you get to the connector. (cant access it from the top) I could reach it from the bottom via long needle nose pliers but that was about all I could do.

Should I keep the Bosch sensor with the factory clip, or get the "universal" splice in sensor?

I'm sure it may help if I included the engine size, it has the 4.6.

I did search the forums, but I did not find much on how to replace the sensor. Any help is appreciated.

The same one on the 5.4's are a bitch too. Try taping it to the end of a long screwdriver. Once the clip snaps in, you should be able to pull the screwdriver and tape out.
