Lightbulb Adding interior lighting

Greetings All

I have a 2005 Supercrew 4x4 5.4

I have been considering adding to the current interior lighting, as when driving at night, the illumination inside the cab, is very low. Cupholders (in between the front seats) and the centre box have no illumination and are difficult to see and find anything when driving at night.
My aim was to add some simple 12" flexible Led strips to improve the interior lighting. I don't want these to be manually switched, i'm looking to hook them into the trucks lighting circuit, so they will turn on as soon as the driving lights are on.

Where is the best place to get the live feed from? I'm thinking it's the solid brown wire which runs down the drivers side of the truck by the door.... am i right? or is there a better place under the dash to take the live feed?
