Default adding foglights

Recently I just replaced my front bumper on my truck and decided to go with the bumper that has the factory fog light cut outs. I ordered the buckets and the fog lights but I am going to make my own harness to be able to use them being my truck did not orginally come with fog lights. I am wanting to wire them in to my headlights so that when the headlights are on the fog lights are on. does any one have any suggestions on if this is a good idea or a bad idea. I am trying to avoid drilling a hole in the dash to put a switch in being I want it to look clean. the truck is a 06 4.6 liter screw 4x2.

Get a switch with the fog position, fits in the same spot looks factory.

I could be completely wrong about this but I feel like if you tap into the headlight wire and use it to signal a relay you should be ok. I personal probably wouldn't use the headlight wire to power the fog lights. Just my thoughts

It may not be the best way or the right way to do it but I would think of the fog lights more like after market off road lights. Just running your positive and negative leads to a relay and instead of a switch to turn them on use the power form your headlights. Im not sure what you mean by homemade wire harness

home made wire harness would basically mean that the foglights came with now iring and i am going to have to construct the thing myself. idk just food for thought. my friend has a wiring kit for an aftermarket fog light kit just sitting around, may see if I can buy it off of him and figure a place to mount the switch. i will have to find a switch that looks factory so as not to detract from the looks of the truck

I used this aftermarket wiring kit to install a floodlight. It comes w/ an ugly stick-on switch, but you won't have to drill to install the switch. Made the install very easy.
