Default Add a leaf... wtf...

ok, so from what im hearing, this has been a 'do it yourself' thing... then wtf?

for the record, its a pro comp long leaf kit...

8 hours last night.... the two centering bolts in the middle of the factory leaf set just spun in the hole, finally got that out. then no one says anything about how ridiculous of a task it is to open the alignment clamps. how would you even close that back up with an additional leaf in there anyway?

does anyone have any pictures of their installed AAL kit? any tips and tricks?

im a very avid and capable weekend mechanic, rebuilt heads, lowering kits, pulleys, maintenance, etc... but this has go tme scratching my head.

any help please!!!

hmm, not really. the issue im having is with the alignment clamps that are on the factory spring packs. the bending of them, getting an additional leaf in, and closing it back up, is the issue.

Im reviving this one Dan lol. I am determined to get my clamps to open up so I can squeeze my add a leaf in. Does any one have any new ideas on how these clamps come apart? I am talking about the alignment clamps on the rear leaf springs that hold them all together. I also have a long add a leaf spring that I want to install. I tried a few things today but I came up short. It kind of pisses me off that they would make it so hard to get apart.
