just looking for some info on how far you can adavance the timing on a 05 5.4 with an edge chip and a k&k intake. any help would be great trying to get the best out of the truck that i can

 

If you really want the best, a custom tune for the early 3v and a CAI is the only way. You're playing with fire trying to advance an already lean a/f. These aren't carbbed motors where you can adjust timing 10 degrees and be good. The PCM has the ability to adjust timing 50 degrees or so already. Get a custom tune with timing for whatever octane you run and that will be the best you can get.

 

^What he said.^ Send the Edge tuner (I believe that was what you meant) to php and get it changed into a Gryphon and tell them what setup you have and they will write the custom tune. You can't add a custom tune to the Edge.
